FAQ

Where are you located?

That’s easy! We offer all our sessions through secure, online video. You’ll be provided with a link from your therapist to meet online.

This will often be part of your initial, free consultation, giving you a chance to experience online therapy from the comfort of the private space of your choosing.

What are your office hours?
Our providers offer flexible schedules designed to meet your needs. Please talk with your therapist about a time that works for you.
How long is a typical session?
We offer both 50- and 30-minute sessions.
What is the free initial consultation?

In your free consultation with your therapist, we’ll take the time together to learn more about what brings you to therapy, what we offer, and if we are a good match.

We can answer any questions you have as well as allow you to try out the secure online video experience.

Do you accept insurance?
We currently do not accept insurance. We can provide you with a super bill to request reimbursement from your insurance provider if you would like.
What is your cancellation policy?

Therapy is a commitment, both for your therapist and for you! We ask that you cancel a session no later than 24 hours in advance.

Late cancellations are subject to payment of the full fee of the session. However, we understand that events can arise last minute, so please contact us with any cancellation or rescheduling needs. We’ll work together to address these.

How do I make appointments?

Please contact us via email or phone to set up your initial consultation. From there, we will be happy to schedule a session with you on a day and time that works for you.

With whom do you work?
We work with youth, adults, individuals, families, and couples!
What is the first session like?

One of the great benefits of the free initial consultation is that you’ll get to experience a glimpse into a session with your chosen therapist.

Once you decide to schedule your first session with your therapist, you’ll be sent an email through a confidential and HIPAA-compliant practice management software called Simple Practice. You will be able to communicate securely through this portal with your therapist here and will receive the link for your live video session in this way.

During the first session, your therapist will ask you to share some background information about yourself and explore in more depth what is bringing you to therapy. In this first session, we’ll formulate a plan together to help you move toward your values and goals and away from the suffering or discomfort you’ve been feeling.

Isn’t online therapy less beneficial?
Telehealth has been shown to be as effective as face-to-face therapy!
How do I prepare for my online session?

That’s a great question. Telehealth provides many benefits; however, it does require a small amount of preparation on your part. Ensuring that you are in a quiet, private environment with a strong Internet connection can go a long way to having a successful session.

We want you to know that your therapist has invested in upgrading their computer and Internet as well as office setting to ensure the best possible connection

What is therapy like?

Therapy can be like a lot of things. It really depends on what you’re needing or wanting from the session.

You can expect to feel heard, validated, and understood. You also can expect your therapist to reflect to you what they are experiencing, and they will ask questions to help explore patterns of behavior that may not be working well for you.

Your therapist is your biggest fan, and we’ll celebrate your growth, achievements, and success together. We care about you and your goals, and truly value the time that we spend together.

Therapy is something to look forward to as a chance to feel cared about and supported.

Are you licensed?
Both Karelin and Jeremy are licensed Marriage and Family Therapists with over 10 years’ experience in the field.

We have worked in various settings with adults, youth, families, and couples, and really love what we do.

Have you been to therapy yourself?

YES! Going to therapy as a therapist is one form of self-care. We certainly aren’t immune to the same types of issues with which you’re dealing right now.

Therapy is a way for us to ensure that we are our best selves and ready to be present with you in your time of need. To let you in on a little secret, we also love the chance to be on the other side of the screen or couch, as it gives us the chance to learn from other providers whom we respect in the field.

Do people cry in front of you?
All the time, and we’re so glad they feel the safety and comfort to do so.

Therapy is an hour where you don’t have to take care of anyone but yourself, and we’re here to support you in doing that. Sometimes simply having the chance to cry can feel like such a relief.
